  • Notes
    • President Grant had appointed Nellie's father as Secretary and later interim Governor of New Mexico.

Nellie was Regent of Ketewamoke Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution. She died while on her way home from Saratoga, where she and a delegation of the local chapter had attended a D.A.R. conference. After her death, she gifted years of research, known as "The Nellie Ritch Scudder Collection of Long Island Genealogical Records" to the Huntington Historical Society.
