    • Colonel William Wikoff resided at Manalapan, Monmouth county, New Jersey, where he owned a large farm. He was a colonel during the Revolution, and according to family tradition received his commission from General Washington at the close of the war in 1782. He was dispatched by General Lee to Mount Holly with a detachment of troops, June 27, 1778, and was thus prevented from participating in the battle of Monmouth. Colonel Wikoff was a man of large fortune and eminent in his community.
